Slumber Party!

Sissy was really excited for a sleepover birthday! I was worried she might be too young. But after polling the mothers of some of her friends, we decided to go for it!
This party was a little more big girl, but still had lots of cute details. We served pasta for dinner, setup a photo booth, decorated sugar cookies, had a dance party, and watched a movie. The biggest hit of all was a surprise to me - they loved jumping on the trampoline in the basement and had a ball doing that for hours!

 My mom and Jeanne' worked hard to make this darling cake. It is way cuter than I imagined it would be! I so appreciate their help doing it!


We made some cute goodie bags that Sarah Graves was very proud to put together herself!

We made candy bars thanking her friends for coming.

Iced sugar cookies have always been my thing for their birthdays, but this year Sissy wanted her friends to decorate cookies. So, I made my usual cookies and put them in the goodie bags.

They looked really cute packaged.

Sarah Graves really wanted a candy area, so we picked out some of her favorites (she's quite the connoisseur).  She picked Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, caramels, and kisses. She was quite pleased to show off the vase she made using her Doh Vinci!

The printable were great for making some tabletop decorations! I think the girls appreciated the bright colors and cute theme!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
